Phil Haydon, with 53 points.

We now have a good list to work with. Hopefully, we will be able to
invite the top 2 speakers for the NSP seminar series. I will e-mail
them ASAP. As soon as I know, I will let you know. As we discussed
during last friday meeting, I will try as hard as I can to invite the
#1 speaker. Then, I will go down the list until we have a positive
answer.

Thanks to everyone who voted, the scores were tight. Just to make
things clear, a first place nomination was worth 9 points and a ninth
place was worth 1 point. There was 2 voters that didn't vote all the
way to ninth place (they ranked the first 5 speakers). I took the
liberty of randomizing the "unclassified" and assigning them points.
And to be fair, I casted my votes before seeing everyone else's votes.

Here is the breakdown of the points

Phil Haydon: 53
Larry Young: 47
Stephen Strittmatter: 44
John Hildebrand: 40
Janis Weeks: 39
Martin Heisenberg: 38
Uwe Homberg: 36
Bruce McEwen: 35
Larry Abbott: 28

Given the fact that Phil Haydon is working on glial cells (and assuming
that he will agree to come for a seminar), I think that the second
speaker could be anyone from 2-9. Their work will be significantly
different from our #1 speaker.

Once again, I want to thank everyone who submitted candidates and
everyone who voted. The choices were very exciting and I believe that
we will be able to offer some very high quality speakers to the NSP
community.
