Hi everyone,

Hope everyone's surviving the winter weather! This week is our first
outside speaker of the semester, Yehuda Ben-Shahar from WashU St. Louis.

His talk is entitled: "The genetics of neuronal robustness." To produce
adaptive behaviors, neurons must maintain robust intrinsic excitability.
However, the genetic networks that enable intrinsic neuronal homeostasis
remain mostly unknown. The Ben-Shahar lab explores the molecular processes
that maintain neuronal robustness at different timescale by using the power
of Drosophila neurogenetics.

If you are interested in joining us for the postdoc breakfast with him, it
will be on Tuesday, 2/18 at 8am @ the Courier Cafe in Urbana.

Please let me know if you can join!
