To whom it may concern,

please find attache the flyers for the 6th Annual Postdoctoral Symposium held at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and organized by the Society of Postdoctoral Scholars.

This is an interdisciplinary symposium for postdoctoral scholars and graduate students interested in presenting their work and expanding their network. We also encourage graduate students to showcase their research and come ask about the post graduate life.

We would be very grateful if you could forward this to postdocs and graduate students in the Neuroscience Program, or to any colleague that might be in charge of mailing lists.

Attached you may find the flyer to post and the letter on letterhead.

Sincerely,

Ilaria Berteletti on behalf of all the members of the Society of Postdoctoral Scholars

Attention Postdoctoral Scholars and Graduate Students!

The Society for Postdoctoral Scholars (SOPS) will be hosting our 6th Annual Postdoctoral Research symposium on February 5th, 2016. Mark your calendars for this day of oral and poster presentations and valuable networking opportunities. After a highly successful 2015 Symposium, the 2016 symposium promises to be even better. This year's symposium is sponsored by the Graduate College and the Provost's Office, and will be hosted at the Beckman Institute. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Adam Kruse from the School of Music. He will be presenting a keynote lecture entitled "Bring the Noise: Challenging the Relationships Between Hip-Hop and School Music".

Abstracts submission and registration opens on October 15th, and will be open until January 15th, 2016. The registration fee is $15 for all participants. This includes coffee, a light breakfast, catered lunch, and light evening refreshments at the reception. Abstracts will be considered for either oral or poster presentations. As the number of oral presentations are limited, those abstracts not selected for oral presentations will be offered poster presentations. Graduate students are particularly encouraged to submit abstracts for the poster session. Travel awards will be available. The abstract word limit is 200 words.
