Dear Colleagues,

The Simons Foundation is accepting applications from postdoctoral fellows and other early career scientists for the Simons Foundation Independence Awards<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.simonsfoundation.org/2022/11/29/simons-foundation-opens-applications-for-independence-awards/__;!!DZ3fjg!5FHO2cHNFSGAoB41pyq6YbYSsvZwZ1MFgIHVnysTKsmw2vkTUpTJHb190C707qiLvl8u4x46GduOwo5W-2llUfI8CFwbvZxthlCgAw$>. These awards engage scientists during the critical stage of transitioning to an independent research professorship. Deadline: February 16, 2023

Details:

  * The awards are offered through the Simons Foundation Neuroscience Collaborations and Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative.
  * A recorded information session about all three awards can be found here<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.simonsfoundation.org/funding-opportunities/simons-foundation-independence-award-rfas-informational-session-and-conversations-with-current-fellows/__;!!DZ3fjg!5FHO2cHNFSGAoB41pyq6YbYSsvZwZ1MFgIHVnysTKsmw2vkTUpTJHb190C707qiLvl8u4x46GduOwo5W-2llUfI8CFwbvZw_BTarHA$>.

Upon assumption of an approved tenure-track faculty position, fellows will receive grant funding of $600,000 total over three years.
  * The three award programs emphasize different scientific missions and have different eligibility criteria.

     * Generally, the award programs are directed toward PhD- and/or MD-holding scientists currently in mentored training positions actively seeking a tenure-track position at an institution of higher education during the 2023-2024 academic year.
     * There are no citizenship requirements and applicants may be from US or international institutions seeking faculty positions at US or international institutions.
     * Simons Foundation Neuroscience Collaborations programs seek to support individuals from diverse backgrounds underrepresented in neuroscience research. Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative program welcomes applications from all scientists interested in autism research, and encourages applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds underrepresented in neuroscience research.
