The objective of the BRAIN Initiative<https://www.braininitiative.nih.gov/> Diversity K99/R00 is to enhance biomedical research workforce diversity and foster a strong cohort of new, highly skilled and well trained, NIH-supported, independent investigators from diverse backgrounds working in research areas supported by the BRAIN Initiative, as highlighted in BRAIN 2025: A Scientific Vision<https://www.braininitiative.nih.gov/2025/index.htm>. Eligible groups for this FOA include: persons underrepresented by race/ethnicity, persons with a disability, and/or women.
