Happy New Year and welcome back!

I wanted to draw your attention to three research events coming up in the next couple of weeks:

1. This Friday is a workshop I am co-running with OPD and IHSI, on the topic of NIH Clinical Trials.
This Friday, January 12, 2018, 2:00-4:00pm in 5602 Beckman.  Interested faculty, staff, students are all welcome to attend. If you cannot attend, the slides will be available afterwards; see the announcement in the Beckman Bulletin.

2. Next Tuesday, January 16, is the next installment of our Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Seminar Series. OTM’s Steve Wille will talk about intellectual property. Come learn the differences between copyright, patent, trademark, and more!
Tuesday, January 16, 2018, 12:00-1:00pm in 1005 Beckman. Lunch will be served.

3. Friday January 26 will be a special workshop with Carle Foundation Hospital physicians and residents from their Internal Medicine department. This event includes our guests giving a tutorial about “What is internal medicine?”.   After that, we will have ‘lightning round’ research talks and then lots of networking time to help establish relationships for future collaborative research.  I encourage anybody interested in learning more about internal medicine to at least see the tutorial part – that will be: Friday January 26, 2018, 1:00 – 1:40pm in 5602 Beckman.
