Dear Fellow Graduate Students and Postdocs,



The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology Career Development Committee wants to welcome you to our events with Dr. Neal Kitchen, Ph.D. (Chief Geneticist and Chief Operating Officer, HydroPeptide LLC, Seattle), a successful individual representing the Industry Scientist career path.



There will be three events on Wednesday, December 5th, 2018 open to all campus faculty, staff and students.

  *   Career Seminar, Noon, Charles Miller Auditorium, Room B102 Chemical Life Sciences Lab. Talk Title: The Road Less Traveled: Doctorate in the Beauty Industry





  *   Social Networking Event, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Room C605 Chemical Life Sciences Lab (lunch will be served) If attending, please RSVP cdbcareers at illinois.edu<mailto:cdbcareers at illinois.edu> so we can order enough food.

Currently, Dr. Neal Kitchen is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Geneticist at Hydropeptide LLC, an anti-aging skin care company. Dr. Kitchen was born in Utah but grew up in Illinois near St. Louis. After completing his B.S from Brigham Young University, he transferred to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he completed his degree in the cell and structural biology program in 2010. He moved to Rockford, Illinois, to work in marketing and product management at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Dr. Kitchen took on an advisory role with HydroPeptide LLC in 2013 in Seattle, which turned into a full-time position the following year.



Today, among his numerous responsibilities as the company’s Vice President of strategy and development includes overseeing the company’s growth activities in product development, clinical studies, doctor and advisory boards, and sales and marketing.
