Dear Graduate Students and Postdocs,

*The Gordon Research Seminar*(*GRS*) on *Neuroethology: Behavior,
Evolution & Neurobiology *will be held on the 17 and 18^th August 2013
at Mount Snow Resort, VT, U.S.A. Submit your abstract for poster or oral
presentation consideration as part of the program. Registration and
Abstract submission accepted until April 17th 2013 (oral presentation)
and July 20th (poster). Graduate students and postdocs are also strongly
encouraged to register for the associated Gordon Research Conference.

The Gordon Research Seminar in Neuroethology is aimed at fostering
interactions between graduate students and post-docs who have undertaken
the study of the neural basis of vertebrate and invertebrate behavior.
The 2013 Neuroethology GRS will focus on the interfaces among sensory,
integrative and motor areas and how they form a closed behavioral loop.
The young scientists (graduate students and postdocs) attending this
conference will present and share findings on the functional basis of
neural circuits, from molecular to behavioral scales and across many
specialties (for example, molecular, imaging, and electrophysiology).

Please visit http://tinyurl.com/neuroethology, for details and
registration instructions. The posters for the seminar description and
the preliminary program are attached to this email. These can also be
found as links at: http://tinyurl.com/neuroethology

*Preliminary program *: This seminar will consist of three oral
sessions, two poster sessions, one career development session and one
social mixer.

*Career Development Session*: Prof. Eve Marder

*Opening speakers and moderators for the scheduled sessions*:

*Sensory*:“Functional cell type characterization of mouse
pheromone-sensing neurons”, Pei Sabrina Xu ( Washington U. St. Louis)
/Moderator: Dr. Ashlee Rowe (Michigan State University) /

*Integrative*: “Envelope processing in the weakly electric fish,
Apteronotus leptorhynchus”, Dr. Michael Metzen ( McGill University)
/Moderator: Dr. Dayu Lin (NYU)/

*Motor*: “Closing the Loop with Neuromechanical Simulation: Insights on
the Role of Sensory Feedback in Posture and Walking”, Bryce Chung
(Georgia State University)
/Moderator: Dr. James C. Liao (University of Florida)/
