> Our next CPIA meeting will be held on Saturday, April 26, from 10
> AM-noon in the Reading Room of the Levis Faculty Center at the
> University of Illinois (919 West Illinois St., Urbana). We are very
> fortunate to have as a presenter Dr. William Gieseke, who will present
> a program entitled *Neuroscience and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy: A
> Case Study*. Dr. Gieseke is a faculty member at the In! stitute for
> Psychoanalysis in Chicago, and received his Ph.D. from the Institute
> for Clinical Social Work, also in Chicago. Dr. Gieseke will present a
> completed case of his three year treatment of a college age student
> who flunked out of college as a freshman. Dr. Gieseke will illustrate
> how he used a self psychological approach to treat symptoms of
> depression, anxiety, and attention deficit disorder with
> hyperactivity. The case will provide an introduction to how one can
> use information about neuroscience and brain development in
> psychotherapy. This program is appropriate for students as well as
> for beginning and advanced therapists.
>
>
>
> Dr. Gieseke will bring with him information about the training
> programs available at the Institute for Clinical Social Work, and he
