From generobi@life.uiuc.edu Tue, 09 Mar 2004 09:31:22 -0600 Date: Tue, 09 Mar 2004 09:31:22 -0600 From: Gene Robinson generobi@life.uiuc.edu Subject: [Neuropostdocs] Good news --=====================_1869712000==.ALT Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed I am delighted to report that a training grant application made last year will be funded! The grant is entitled, "Sensory Neuroscience Training Program with a Focus on Auditory and Chemosensory neurobiology." Al Feng is the PI on the grant, with numerous NSP faculty. This will provide us with additional resources to recruit and support neuroscience students and postdocs. We hope to get on a roll: a training grant seeking support for Year 1 and 2 students (Paul Gold, PI) narrowly missed funding this past year; Paul will resubmit this one as well as a new one on aging. And Akira Chiba is beginning to explore possibilities of a training grant proposal on development of the nervous system. Preparation of these proposals is greatly facilitated by Sam's work in organizing the required student information database. If anyone else is interested in developing a proposal for a training grant, Sam will be happy to help you along these lines. Congratulations to Al, and thanks Paul, Sam and Akira for your efforts and interest. Gene Gene E. Robinson G.
