Daeyeol Lee, a graduate of our NSP program who is now on the faculty of the
Brain and Cognitive Sciences Department at Rochester, is giving the NSP talk
next Tuesday, Oct 15. Dr. Lee will be hosted by Joe Malpeli.

The title of his talk is:

"Patterns of neural activity in primate frontal cortex
during acquistion of skilled motor tasks."

He trains monkeys in motor sequence tasks in which performance depends on
deducing a set of implicit rules. While this is happening, he records
populations of cells in frontal cortex with multiple arrays of electrodes,
with the goal of identifying the population codes and areas of cortex involved
in various stages of the learning.

If you would like to meet with him, please let Joe Malpeli know as
soon as possible.
