I sadly relay this note from Ladd Prosser's son-in-law.  (To those of you 
new to neuroscience or UIUC: Ladd Prosser was a pivotal figure in 
neuroscience and, locally, one of the founders of our neuroscience 
program.)  Gene

Ladd Prosser passed away shortly after 4:30AM on Sunday February 3. His 
daughter Nancy
was at his side when he stopped breathing -- the physiologist's final
physiological act.
