ILLINOIS CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FOR SCIENTISTS
A Leadership and Management Program for Scientists
The Biotechnology Center, in cooperation with the College of Commerce and
Business Administration, is proud to present the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign's Certificate in Business Administration for Scientists
(CBA for Scientists) Program. The purpose of this program is to provide
the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the challenges of managing an
academic or industrial laboratory group or business unit. An 11-session
series, the CBA for Scientists is developed exclusively to provide
scientists with the strategic framework necessary for making informed
business decisions about current and future issues. The course is designed
specifically for individuals who are interested in acquiring the basics of
a business degree, but do not have time to pursue one. It will provide the
Research Scientist with an understanding of the interrelationships of the
functional areas of business as it is conducted in science-related industries.
Each topic will be discussed at length and practical applications will be
given. At the completion of the program, participants should be able to
assess critical issues and develop appropriate solutions.
Do you want to:
understand business concepts?
make informed business decisions?
interpret financial statements?
learn to better utilize all of your resources?
make yourself more attractive to employers?
